The battery.
Took it apart -
COULD NOT GET THE OLD BATTERY OUT no matter how much alcohol or prying.
I only ended up breaking the pick.

@saraniimuller The alcohol needs to go under the battery and soak in.
The quality of the alcohol makes a huge difference here, you need pharmacy-grade 70+% isopropyl alcohol and not the dollar store version.
Squirt it around the edges of the battery, tilt the phone every way to leave it a chance to get under and leave it for 5 minutes.
If you have a wide plastic tool like a ruler, that helps to pry the edge of the battery up for the alcohol to get under without causing any pressure points. Pry slightly and squirt more alcohol, wait then pry more. Soaking the end of the tool in alcohol helps with the prying as the adhesive can't re-adhere.

Most cellphone batteries have double stick tape to hold them in place. Prying a battery from tape may require probing around the four sides for the greatest lifting angle then slowly prying to loosen the strong grip of tape. Once a pry point begins separating battery from phone, one drop of WD40 can help break down the adhesive bond. Use sparingly to avoid oiling things. A tissue, napkin and Q-tip can sop up excess oil. If you are successful, wipe off remaining oil for a clean surface when using new double stick tape. If old tape is stuck to the phone body, carefully peeling off this tape with a little WD40 should help dissolve adhesive. Wipe off remaining oil with alcohol in preparation for new tape. Any remaining oil residue will not allow sticky tape to adhere.
