Can I subtituite capacitor?

Hi, need the correct answer, this problem bothers me a lot so thanks in advance and a correct answer will be very appreciated.

Due to cleaning pads with solder wick accidentally removed one SMD capacitor, I can find another one, but the question is what does another capacitor need to have in common with the lost one? ex: Actually I lost C2001_E - 24PF - 5% - 16V.

Should another capacitor have only those values 24PF - 5% - 16V or need to be C2001_E included (While C2001 is only number but as far i know E represent 2.5v)

To make a question simply, check the photo where I lost SMD C2001_E - 24PF - 5% - 16V and please tell me what values I need to search for so I can find smd capacitor from another donor board so I can substitute the lost one

Nope, not dead, but sometimes questions get missed by people who are qualified to answer them since we're all volunteers and don't monitor the forums continuously.

Anyway, to answer your question, the C2001_E is simply a reference designator on the board and usually has no relation to the part itself outside of the first letter "C" indicating a capacitor. At Intel they frequently use those designators to show a position on the board, so the "E" may refer to a particular grid on the original schematic drawing.

The point is, ignore the designator; you are correct that the 24PF - 5% - 16V numbers are what's relevant. 24PF is the capacitance value and that has to match exactly. The 5% tolerance means the capacitance is allowed to vary by that much; the acceptable values would range from 22.8 to 25.2 PF. So a smaller tolerance value would be acceptable - the next closest is usually 1% - as that would guarantee the value is still within the 5% range. Finally the voltage; you'll want to keep it close to the original value, but slightly higher is acceptable. A 25V part would work fine if the other numbers are within tolerance, for example, but you don't want to go lower like a 5V one.

Hopefully that answers your question. Good luck with getting your phone going again!
