How do I replace the USB -c ports on this Chromebook?

Generally when you need to replace a charging port, you've got two choices. On some devices the port is mounted on the motherboard so short of replacing the entire motherboard, you have to unsolder the old USB port from the circuit board and solder on a new one. USB-C ports are more difficult than the older USB versions in that they have many more pins and tend to need more advanced soldering skills and tools in order to replace them. As an example, this port should fit your Chromebook but as near as I can tell it probably takes a hot air station to remove and replace the jack.

However, other devices like yours sometimes mount the charging port on a smaller, separate circuit board that is easy and cheap to replace. Definitely a preferable way to go unless you are really pinching pennies and really good at soldering. They seem to be available both new and used, so it's up to you which way you want to go; the new ones are aftermarket parts and will probably work fine but you sometimes take a chance with them. Otherwise you can pick up a used one on eBay that will be made by Asus, but of course it is used so hopefully it won't come with any problems. As far as how to replace that part, there's a guide available that shows you how to replace both it and the motherboard but it looks to me as though you could probably skip a lot of the removal that's not necessary for replacing what the guide calls the daughter board. I doubt you have to actually remove the motherboard so I'd leave that in place and just try taking out the daughter board first. The battery too; it's not obvious that you'd need to remove it for the daughter board either.
