1 Sony TV stuck at parental pin set up page &remote unresponsive
Basically a couple of buttons on my old remote started to be unresponsive to the point that the whole unit wouldn't do anything atal, it was falling apart so I ordered a new remote but reasons unknown I did a hard reset on my TV & now wants me to set a parental pin, however now the new remote is unresponsive & I don't have nemerical buttons on the side of my TV, I know the remote works because it works on another Sony TV of mine, I'm no electrician, but im thinking the problem lies with the infra red receiver sensor thingy on the front of my TV, no one seems to know how I can get past this page or get my remote working again, it's a Sony Bravia LCD 2011 btw 😭

What is the model number of the TV?
Did you get an exact same Sony model number remote or a universal remote?

Hello J, thanks for replying and yes it is a universal remote, in fact it's the 2nd one I have had for this tele, but now this one won't respond at all ever since I reset the tv, I don't think it lies with the remote as this unresponsive remote works on my other Sony TV, because apparently all Sony remotes work on all Sony tv's, I cannot believe I have disabled a good condition smart TV J, I'm so silly....

Your TV may be in SYNC mode.
try the following:
Press SYNC MENU, select “TV Control” and then select “Home
(Menu)” or “Options” to control the TV and see if that works.
FYI the default parental code is 9999
