How to fix dark shadow on tv?

My 49 inch curved Samsung TV UA49K6300AK has a dark shadow on top of the screen as in the photos

Sometimes the screen is fine but other times there shadow comes back. Sometimes when I tap gently on the back of the tv, the shadow disappears. Sometimes the tap doesn't work.

As seen in the picture below, the area where I highlight gets really hot.

As seen in the photo below, there's also something white on the side of the tv.

Based on my google research, i have to replace the back light.

Is it possible that there are other factors that cause this? Is it possible that my back light is still okay because there are times that the back light works. Because its difficult to find spare parts at my area. If possible I want to fix the tv without buying a new back light.

The dark shadow on your TV, especially when accompanied by heat in the highlighted area, could indeed be related to the TV's backlight. Here are some steps and considerations to help you address this issue:

1. Inspect Backlight Strips: Open the back cover of your TV carefully and inspect the backlight strips. Look for any visible damage, dark spots, or burn marks on the strips. If you find damaged strips, those may need to be replaced.

2. Check Connections: Ensure that all the connections between the backlight strips and the LED driver board are secure. Loose or damaged connections can cause issues.

3. LED Driver Board: The issue could also be with the LED driver board. Inspect it for any visible damage or burnt components.

4. Power Supply Board: A faulty power supply board can also lead to backlight problems. Check the board for damaged capacitors or other components.

5. Professional Help: If you're not experienced with electronics and feel uncomfortable opening the TV, it's best to consult a professional technician who can diagnose and fix the issue. They may have access to spare parts or can recommend a suitable solution.

6. Temperature: The fact that tapping on the TV sometimes affects the shadow might indicate an intermittent connection issue, but it's hard to be certain without a closer look.

7. Spare Parts: Finding spare parts can indeed be a challenge, especially for older TV models. You may need to explore online marketplaces or contact Samsung directly for replacement parts.

Ultimately, it's possible that other factors, such as damaged components, could be contributing to the issue. A professional technician can provide a more accurate diagnosis and suggest the best course of action to fix your TV without replacing the entire backlight if possible.
