Apple Watch Series 6 44mm Crown Button Scrolls But Does Not Click

I inherited my Apple Watch Series 6 44mm from my wife when she got an upgrade and the crown button scrolls fine but has no click functionality. With the most recent update, when I'm in an app, I have to either direct Siri to open a new app or wait around until the watch allows me to scroll down to "all apps."

I would like to open it up and fix it but I'm unsure of what I need to do to do that. Research hasn't helped me very much because everything tells me to clean it Apple's way, which has proved ineffective.

Can I replace the flex cable to restore functionality? The scroll function works but the button function on the crown does not work, so is it mechanical? Should I replace the entire frame? Both the frame and the flex cable?

Someone smarter than me please advise xD
