How can I replace my display to my Bose wave music system

I have never repaired something like this before. Can someone please explain how to remove display so I can replace it?

The display is busted and won’t work. I opened it and busted display is connected through some type of ribbon wire. I have ordered a replacement display and need to disconnect the old one but I don’t know how.

@ferguson65958 that connector looks like a ZIF connector. The ribbon cable should just pull out of the connector. No really locking mechanism, just a big of force. If you are unsure of that, just post a close up of the ribbon cable and the connector so we can see it a bit better.

@ferguson65958 page 12 of this Bose Wave Radio I Ii Iii Troubleshooting Guide should come pretty close to what you are trying to accomplish. If you are trying to remove the LCD from the board, we would need to see what the board (front and back) looks like.
