Why is my screen dark except for a small band at top when I turn it on

My Lg 42”flat screen has a dark screen when first turned on in the morning for 5 - 10 min. Sound is normal.

Can you show us pictures/video of the issue? This can help us further diagnose the issue

@carlab57089 what happens after those 5 - 10 min? As stated above, pictures will help.
