@amandalondeka has it ever worked for you and did anything happen to it. We also need to know the exact model of your CQ56 since not all of them even have Bluetooth. In that case you would need to get a Bluetooth Network Adapter.

Most are probably lacking it, so a lot of the time it's a replacement card :-(. Even the 2 cards with BT are no longer supported due to Ralink being bought out, so there's no new drivers and the BIOS has it's own issues with aftermarket card replacements.
Now, if these did not have a whitelist and weren't new enough to be from the RSA BIOS era (2008 or 2009, maybe 2010-present, strengthened with Intel Boot Guard with a OEM private key stored in the firmware), you might be able to strip the WL out of the BIOS, but I don't want to touch that on a site like that - firmware hacks are too advanced. I mean, maybe you can modify the BIOS to remove the whitelist then flash the EEPROM directly with a RasPi or other tools, but this is why I don't think the discussion belongs here. These are far less secure then the later 2013+ machines where the PK was in the EC and checked against the BIOS (changed when you "hack" the whitelist out). These are not easily directly flashed with the HP software, though.

Most of them do not have BT - the CQ56-219WM is absolutely not equipped with it as I had one years back due to a parental ultimatum so I know that one too well. It was a bad spec in every way.
That said, most of them will probably lack it. Your best bet is to look in the SM, and pick up one of the cards which have it, and then add it that way. On a lot of these low end laptops back then, that was the way to add it and know it is present reliably. Now it's so cheap to add it's just part of the WLAN card either as a part of the SoC or added on with a discrete chip finding one without it is a rarity.
I have pulled the cards which have it from the SM:

YOU MUST GET A CARD WITH THE HP VID FOR THESE - 100% OF THESE HAVE A WLAN WHITELIST UNLIKE THE NEWER BUSINESS AND CONSUMER MODELS WHERE THEY CUT THAT BS. IF IT LACKS A HP SPARE STICKER OR IT IS NOT ON THE LABEL, IT MAY NOT WORK!
