Screen replaced but screen not working - external monitor works
My tablet is the SM-T875
Hi all,
I have looked around on the forum before asking but not really seen an answer so I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
My Samsung S7 Tablet screen broke and I replaced the screen. I have not see a backlight display since replacing it.
I've checked for kinks in the 2 LCD Cables and cannot spot any, but currently awaiting replacement parts for them (just in case).
I have done a test and managed to plug a USB C into the charging port which has an HDMI connection to use an external monitor and can see the external monitor working (in fact everything I am writing here is off the external monitor of the S7 Tablet where the screen is not working.
THe only thing I didn't do is take the battery out when carrying out a replacement screen (reading the forums that seems to be a possability of short circuiting the LCD cable) - but IFixit strip down did not suggest that.
I am just trying to understand what would be the issue as if the 2 LCD cables I am going to replace does not work, I have no idea what would be the issue.
Also i'm not sure but would Samsung come out to 'replace' my screen if I have opened it or will they just write this off as not working. Again it's working off the external monitor so i can't put this down to a hardware issue.
Many thanks
