OLED panel damage on 65" P-series QLED

Boys being boys, one of their toys "found its way" to the TV and created the damage shown here: https://imgur.com/ZZ9V6MV

Block Image

TV is out of warranty. Model: P65Q9-J01

I contacted Vizio support and they mentioned that fixing this damage could cost more than the original cost of the TV (~$1k 2 years ago). Just wanted to get a second opinion about this. Appreciate any help or advice.

Yeah, that's the problem with the large screen televisions nowadays; the LED panel is the majority of the cost in a TV and we've found that a) it's rare that you can even find a replacement panel to buy, and b) even if you do, the cost is almost always more than the original price of the TV itself, so we've yet to see it be cost effective to replace one.

So yeah, you can part it out for the boards inside; those are valuable on the market, but unfortunately that's about it for the value of your TV; it's simply not worth it to repair.

@alexandros74158 No problem; disappointing I know, but it is what it is.

BTW, I edited your post to add the picture to it so future generations will always have the photo available; we've had an innumerable number of photos that are linked to go missing at some point so this keeps your post intact permanently
