what could be happened to my mainboard if the main power supply doesn't start when i push the on button (front panell) mean while the 5vsb power presents?

What is the make and model number of the motherboard?
What is the make and model number of the PSU?
If it is an ATX type PSU (examples only), try the paperclip test to make sure that it is OK.
If the PSU is OK have you checked if the power button is OK electrically?

Hi Jayeff, Thanks for your reply. my mb. is asus ddr3 with 1155 socket & my psu is completely healthy & functional.the problem is here that when i connect the power button pins from header pins on mb. the psu did not start.
Did you check that the power button is working electrically with an Ohmmeter, you didn't say?
Disconnect the power button from the motherboard header pins and then check if you measure 0.00 Ohms across the appropriate power button cable wires when the button is operated.
Please provide the motherboard model number (it should be printed on the board somewhere). Knowing the ram type and CPU socket doesn't help much.
