Why is my cooling fan not kicking on?

jeff, it is in the power box inside the engine compartment. Cooling fan relay is number 8. You also want to check the radiator cooling fan thermoswitch. That is the one on the thermostat housing and it controls the fan. Your Mazda has actually three sensors. One for the cooling fan, one to send a signal to the gauge, and one to send the signal to the ecu. number 2 in the second image is the engine coolant temp sensor. from here Hope this helps, good luck.

alberto, what year is your Outlander? What engine and what type of transmission? You say "without turning on the aircondition" so it works when you turn on the AC?

My 1989 Mazda protege fans were working fine but I washed my engine and now they are not working what did I do to hurt the fans

I have this issue too. 97 familia, 1.5L manual.

Driving home the other day...bumped the kerb lightly as I parked up then temp light came on. Have tested relays, fuses, coolant temp sensor, thermostat ( all working as normal)....fans won't kick on at all.

This is really starting to do my head in.
