1st generation vs 2nd generation

On the iPod Mini, what is the difference between the 1st generation vs 2nd generation.

Would a 1st or second battery fit into either one?

Thanks,

Dennis

Here's the differences:

1st Gen:

-Only one capacity option (4GB)

-Gold color

-Text on each clickwheel was grey

2nd Gen:

-4GB and 6GB capacities

-More saturated colors

-Text on clickwheels matched the color of the iPod

-Back casing now reflected capacity

Additionally, the clickwheels had different sized connectors, making it impossible to use a first generation wheel with a second generation Mini or vice versa.

As far as I understand, the batteries should be the same between generations.

Can a 2nd Gen click wheel fit a 1st gen?

The screens have different size ribbon connectors. 1st gen is larger and won't fit in 2nd gen

The batteries should fit, although the battery life might be lower, also the 2nd generation has more upgradeability for compact flash, search “DankPods” on YouTube to learn more about compact flash upgrades.
