i forgot the code to my ipod nano 1st generation. and my computer doesnt have itunes installed. am i out of luck?

Yes, you are. You need to put your iPod in recovery mode and restore with iTunes.

If you have a windows computer, you can get the passcode from a certain directory on the iPod. I forgot which one in particular.
