Problems downloading images to computer.

When I connect the camera to computer via a USB cable it does not register on computer (I don't get the alert sound), hence I can't do anything.

when i connect to c0omputer via usb cable it doe not register on computer. ie- no pinging sound- hence i cannot do any thing
