Hi @xtwiand ,

The screen looks as though it has a crack in it

Connect an external monitor to the laptop and check whether it displays OK.

If it does then the problem is either the display panel or the video cable in the laptop but I’m betting it’s the panel.

Here’s a link to the [https://thinkpads.com/support/hmm/hmm_pdf/x140e_hmm_en_sp40a26006.pdf|service manual] for the laptop.

Scroll to p.76 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the LCD unit (display panel).

Here’s a [https://support.lenovo.com/au/en/partslookup/|link] that will help you to find the correct replacement LCD unit for the laptop.

Type ''Thinkpad X140e'' in the search box on the page in the link.

Select the ''exact model number'' from the drop down box.

Scroll down on the left side of the page that appears and select the ''LCD Panels'' checkbox

Find the '''part number''' for your LCD unit. You may be able to verify which LCD unit is the correct one by looking on the back of the LCD unit in your laptop for the part number, as it is usually stamped on it somewhere.

Once you have found the correct part number, type the '''part number''' ''only'' into the search box of your browser to get results for suppliers of the panel.

Hopefully this is of some help.
