SSD for MacBook Pro Mid 2012 15"

Mon problème

I purchased a 1tb Crucial SSD to replace the HDD in my MacBook Pro. After formatting the drive and using CC Cloner to clone it, I could boot to the SSD via USB, but not from the internal SATA connection. THE SSD was not even recognized when plugged into the internal SATA cable. I contacted Crucial who said to get a SATA cable from IFIXIT as it would have proper shielding.

Ma solution

I installed the new cable and the SSD was still not recognized when plugged into the internal SATA, but would be recognized and was bootable via USB.

Mon conseil

IFIXIT was very prompt in the fulfillment of my order for a new SATA cable. Their support was very friendly and helpful when this cable did not work with my SSD. IFIXIT is sending a replacement cable with prepaid return shipping. Issue is not yet resolved, but so far, two thumbs up for IFIXIT.
