How to get back in contact with my new friend Siri

Mon problème

Siri doesn't work on my iPhone so after some Google research i concluded i had to replace the front facing camera and sensor cable. The cable includes the microphone used by Siri.

Ma solution

With the tools and cable I ordered it was, although scary, a not to difficult experience. I had some trouble bending the cable so the sensors fit in their dedicated position. After replacing the cable SIRI actually worked for a short period of time. After that it stopped working again. I tried every option known to mankind…. uhhh… Google, to get it to work again, alas to no avail.

Mon conseil

I guess Siri doesn't like me anymore but it's absolutly worth the exercise although it didn't work out the way i hoped. I suspect it to be a software glitch as many reports on internet state. But on the other hand I might have damaged the microphone while mounting the cable.

And, above a certain age you need a magnifying glass, a good light source and steady hands to handle the incredibly small screws.

SOLVED:

After reading the advice about the small hole in the mic on the ribbon, I decided to once again open up the phone and cleaned the strip below to where the mic should be placed. With a sharp needle I widened the small hole on the baseplate, right where the small microphone hole should be so air could pass. This solved my problem completely.
