Easy replacement with heat.
AS Barak suggested, using heat allows one to skip the speaker assembly removal and use of the solvent.
The adhesive is strong on the batteies and the batteries seem to be poorer conductors of heat so we placed the heat pad on the palm rest and track pad, which easily warmed the adhesive. This is with the laptop flipped over with the screen over the edge of the counter and a flat box on the keys nest tot eh heat pad so the laptop would not slide off the counter. Patience is needed to reheat the pad and set for a few minutes to pry out the batteries. Also we needed to leave off one bumper between the central batteries and the left side speaker (when looking at the open bottom from the latch side) as the cable seemed to keep it thicker than the case would allow for a smooth reassembly.
