Ce dont vous avez besoin
-
-
The plate in mine had a small strip of adhesive, so I had to gently heat the plate+strip after removal to separate them.
-
-
-
Utilisez la fine pointe d'une spatule pour soulever la plaque métallique, à l'endroit indiqué sur l'image.
In my case, the display connector was glued to the metal and came off with. Putting back the metal lid did not position it correctly. I had to pry it from the metal and plug it in directly.

Althrough a simple fix, one should be weary if the glass is shattered. I just did this, and there were a few spliters left on the adhesive, and of course sticking to it. So if you want to replace your screen due to broken glass, make sure to wear protection and remove the splinters carefully, otherwise you may be tempted to press on the new display to strongly, because you want to stick it to the whole brim.
I completed this fix, and it wasn’t too bad. Just watch out when gluing back the screen not to put glue over the microphone hole at the bottom. This would be the phone microphone mouthpiece, you can see a small notch on the bottom of the screen, beside the “motorola” “m” on the front . I put glue there without knowning and the microphone is now very muted.
Thank you for the heads up about the. microphone hole…
Great article! Keep it up, this really helps out us broke fellows.
DIY OR DIE!!!
What can I do if I broke the cable connected to the back
i recently brought a mot g 7 screen replacement and followed the steps and the screen still doesn’t turn on
I am in the same boat. Not sure what else to try here if the replacement screen does not turn on. Try another screen or look at something else. Phone turns on but no screen activity at all
Short and simple guide for an easy screen replacement - thanks again IFIXIT!
Quick note, Motorola currently (2021) sells a Moto G7 Plus that is actually a rebranded 6.24 inch screen REVVLRY+, model XT1965-T — easily identified by its oval rear camera. It’s always best to check the device model number in the phone’s Settings, if this is possible. This guide works for this phone as well.
With such similarities between the original Moto G7 Plus having a screen size of 6.2 inches, and the the rebranded G7 Plus/REVVLRY+ model’s 6.24 inch scree — both versions using the same display connector — make sure you’ve purchased the correct screen for your model prior to final installation!
I have a moto g7. Today it overheated in the car, refused to cool. The screen went black and now it boots but the screen doesnt turn on. BUT the touch feature works on the screen. Can receive calls and everything. Just no display. No amount of hard reset works, and getting into recovery is a pain because there’s no telling when to release the power button.
In my case, all 3 Moto G7 plus phones have the screen assembly separating from the main body - everything else is fine. What glue or tape do I buy to reattach the screen assembly?

So, I did as suggested in the turorial and managed to remove the screen, sadly now my battery is fried and the device seems broken. If I want to charge or boot, I only get a blinking LED. I didn't do anything else than the steps described above, yet somehow things got &&^&@@ up. I would strongly suggest to anyone else trying this to remove the battery before unplugging the screen, it feels like that is the only possible source of malfunction. Good luck!
Tried replacing a cracked screen today. Sadly, when turning on it didn't show the startup screen. After a while I did get the login screen, but the display was upside-down, while touch screen was right-side-up. After unlocking (some mental gymnastics were required) the colors were very strange. I run LineageOS. Seems I bought a faulty replacement screen.
Dont pry deeper than 3 mm. If you are deeper and just under the glass you will damage the display. The sceen are two layers. Obe witk the veru thin glass and one with a metal frame with display. Yoy want to get under both layers to lift the screen.

Correcting autocorrect… Dont pry deeper than 3 mm. If you are deeper and just under the glass you will damage the display. The screen is two layers. One with the very thin glass and one with a metal frame with the lcd-display. Yoy want to get under both layers to lift the screen.

I don’t have a thermal gun. Here’s what I did. I wrapped my phone in a baggie and an added an oven thermometer into a heating pad and monitored the heat that way. I left it for awhile (to allow all heat to dissipate) and the heat was 189-degrees Fahrenheit. One hour, toasty warm. So I worked with that.

So after one hour at 180 degrees Fahrenheit the base already started buckling and removed itself from the screen. So it was easy to remove the base from the screen. There was some rubber thread that I had to remove. Because of that, I understand that now my phone is not water-tight and I need to treat it as such. But the battery replacement went fine and everything is working great after it was all placed back together. I hope to get a few more years out of my G7 plus!

Magnus Tuvendal's tip was very helpful: between screen and body frame there are actually two gaps visible. The upper one between the glass plate and its frame is actually easier to get into. But it's the wrong one. The lower one towards the body is the one to go for.
