Use this guide to replace your volume buttons.

Power off your Android before beginning disassembly.

  • Place the plastic opening tool under the tab and lift up.

  • Remove the top and bottom tabs.

  • Use a T3 screw head to remove the six (4mm) screws.

  • Push the nylon spudger through the top right hole to push on the front screen.

  • Use the plastic opening tool to separate the front screen from the rear.

  • Use a metal spudger to remove the connector located above the battery on the rear case.

  • Separate the front and rear assemblies.

  • Peel the black tape off the lower part of the motherboard with a pair of tweezers.

  • The black tape can be easily torn.

  • Remove the black tape on the opposite end with your hands.

  • Use the tab from the previous step to pull the battery out of position.

  • Pull the battery up and away from the phone until the battery forms a 70 degree angle withe the back assembly.

  • Remove the black plastic "L-shaped" piece from the upper left corner in the battery housing with a pair of tweezers.

  • Remove the golden connector by pulling up with a pair of tweezers.

  • Remove the battery from the housing.

  • Pry the vibrator motor from its position.

  • Remove SIM card slot by inserting a SIM card ejection tool.

  • Use a paperclip if a SIM card ejection tool is not available.

  • Remove the golden connector attached to the volume buttons with a pair of tweezers.

  • Gently lift the motherboard with a pair of tweezers.

  • Do not try to forcefully remove the motherboard.

  • Remove the four T3 screws (2mm) with a T3 screw head.

  • Remove the volume buttons.
