Sennheiser HD 4.50 Battery Replacement

Introduction

This guide will demonstrate how to replace a faulty battery for the Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC. If the device does not respond when buttons are pressed, the battery might be the issue. Before beginning this repair, the headphones should be disconnected from any external power source, such as a charger.

    • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the four 10 mm screws holding the ear cup cover in place.

    • Use an opening tool to pry open the cover.

    • Remove the cover.

    • Use a spudger to pry the battery from the plastic case.

    • The battery is held down by a strong adhesive, so it will give resistance. You can apply a few drops of high concentration (>90%) isopropyl alcohol to the base of the battery to loosen it.

    • Using tweezers, pull the white battery connector upwards out of its socket.

    • Remove the battery.

    • Silicone sealant and foam tape has been used to segregate the two compartments. This will rip when the cable is removed. It can be replaced with fresh silicone if desired.

Does anyone know if I can use the he 450 bt replacement battery in a 350 bt headphone? The difference in the spec is that the 450’s battery has a longer battery life (2.2 wh vs. 1.3 wh)

This was pretty straightforward, but in opening the cap one of the tiny soldered wires pulled off the pad. It's so tiny that I don't have much hope of soldering it back. Any other way to reattach it? I put it back together anyways and now the right cup works fine, but the left is dead. I recommend a warning here about the little wires, if nothing else.
