  • If any of the adhesive strips broke off and the battery remains stuck to the rear case, remove it by adding a few drops of isopropyl alcohol (90% or greater) underneath the battery near the stuck strip(s). After about a minute, gently lift the battery.

  • Don't try to forcefully lever the battery out. If needed, apply a few more drops of alcohol to further weaken the adhesive. Never deform or puncture the battery with your pry tool.

  • If you choose to use pry tools to lift the battery out of the iPhone, use extreme caution or you may damage the ribbon cables or the wireless charging coil directly underneath the battery.

  • If the battery remains stuck to the rear case, prepare an iOpener or use a hair dryer to heat the rear case directly behind the battery. This will help soften the adhesive.

  • Heat the iPhone until the rear case is slightly too hot to comfortably touch. Don't overheat the iPhone, or you may accidentally ignite the battery.

  • Alternatively, thread a strong piece of string (such as dental floss or a length of thin guitar string) underneath the battery.

  • Pull the string from side to side in a sawing motion all along the length of the battery to separate the adhesive. Do not deform or damage the battery.

  • To protect your fingers, wear gloves or wrap the string ends around a tool (such as the two screwdriver handles shown in the image).

Si une des bandes adhésive s'est cassée et que la batterie reste collée à la coque arrière, préparez un iOpener pour chauffer le dos de la coque arrière juste derrière la batterie. Vous pouvez également utiliser un sèche-cheveux. Ceci va permettre de ramollir l'adhésif.

N'essayez pas de soulever la batterie en forçant. Si nécessaire, rajoutez quelques gouttes d'alcool pour ramollir davantage l'adhésif. Evitez à tout prix de déformer ou perforer la batterie avec votre outil.

Si vous choisissez d'utiliser un outil à levier afin de retirer la batterie de l'iPhone, soyez particulièrement vigilant. Sinon vous risquez d'endommager les nappes ou la bobine de charge sans fil, qui se trouvent directement sous la batterie.

Si la batterie iPhone 8 reste collée à la coque arrière, préparez un iOpener ou utilisez un sèche-cheveux pour chauffer la coque arrière directement derrière la batterie. Cela permet de ramollir l'adhésif.

Chauffez l'iPhone jusqu'à ce que la coque est légèrement trop chaude au toucher. Ne surchauffez pas votre iPhone sinon vous risquez d'enflammer la batterie.

Alternativement, insérez un fil solide (tel que du fil dentaire ou une corde de guitare) sous la batterie.

Tirez le fil d'un côté à l'autre comme une scie pour défaire l'adhésif. Veillez à ni déformer ni endommager la batterie.

Pour protéger vos doigts, portez des gants ou enroulez le fil autour d'un outil (comme deux tournevis comme dans l'image).
