  • Apply a suction cup to the display glass, as close to the center of the top edge as possible.

  • If your display is badly cracked, covering it with a layer of clear packing tape may allow the suction cup to adhere. Alternatively, very strong tape may be used instead of the suction cup. If all else fails, you can superglue the suction cup to the broken screen.

  • Pull on the suction cup with strong, steady force to create a gap between the display glass and the frame.

  • Insert the point of an opening pick into the gap in the center of the earpiece speaker notch, working it downwards underneath the display.

  • Ensure the pick slides over the front-facing camera and is not pushing against it.

  • Due to the stubborn adhesive, this may take multiple attempts of reheating with the iOpener and separating with the suction cup before you get it right.

  • If you are having trouble creating a gap, apply more heat to the edge and try again.

  • Leave your pick in the seam to prevent the adhesive from reasealing.

Appliquez une ventouse sur la vitre, aussi près que possible du milieu du bord supérieur.

Si votre écran est méchamment fissuré, recouvrez-le d'une couche de ruban adhésif d'emballage transparent pour que la ventouse puisse adhérer. Ou bien servez-vous d'un morceau de ruban adhésif épais à la place de la ventouse. Si aucune de ces options ne marche, collez la ventouse sur l'écran cassé avec de la superglue.

Tirez fortement et constamment sur la ventouse pour ouvrir un léger espace entre la vitre et le châssis.

Insérez la pointe d'un médiator dans l'espace au milieu de l'encoche du haut-parleur interne et enfoncez-le sous l'écran.

Assurez-vous que le médiator glisse sur la caméra frontale et n'appuie pas contre elle.

L'adhésif est tenace, il vous faudra donc peut-être plusieurs essais avant de réussir à chauffer suffisamment, puis soulever l'écran avec la ventouse.

Si vous avez du mal à créer un espace, refaites chauffer le bord et recommencez.

Laissez votre médiator dans l'interstice afin d'empêcher l'adhésif de recoller.
