Methods to unstick the battery from the case

  • If any of the adhesive strips broke off and the battery remains stuck to the rear case, remove it by adding a few drops of isopropyl alcohol (90% or greater) underneath the battery near the stuck strip(s).

  • After about a minute, gently lift the battery.

  • Do not insert your spudger in the area between the volume down (-) button and the top edge of the battery, or you may damage the volume control cable lying underneath.

  • Do not pry against the logic board or you may damage the phone.

  • Don't try to forcefully lever the battery out. If needed, apply a few more drops of alcohol to further weaken the adhesive. Never deform or puncture the battery with your pry tool.

  • If the battery remains stuck to the rear case, prepare an iOpener or use a hair dryer to heat the rear case directly behind the battery. It should be slightly too warm to touch comfortably.

  • Overheating the iPhone may ignite the battery.

  • A piece of dental floss may be used to separate the battery from the rear case. A stronger alternative to dental floss is an unwound guitar string, such as a 0.009 E string from a 12-string set. Thread the floss or string behind the upper battery corners, bring the ends together, wrap them around a folded cloth, and pull evenly.

Si une des bandes adhésive s'est cassée et que la batterie reste collée à la coque arrière, enlevez-la en ajoutant quelques gouttes d'alcool isopropylique (90 % ou plus) sous la batterie, autour des bandes adhésives.

Après une minute, soulevez doucement la batterie.

N'insérez pas votre spatule entre le bouton moins (-) de volume et le coin supérieur de la batterie, ou vous risquez d'endommager la nappe de volume qui se trouve en-dessous.

Ne faites pas levier contre la carte mère, ou vous risquez d'endommager le téléphone.

N'essayez pas de forcer sur la batterie. Si besoin, appliquez quelques gouttes d'alcool supplémentaires pour détendre l'adhésif. Ne tordez ni ne trouez la batterie avec votre outil de levier.

Si la batterie reste collée à la coque arrière, munissez-vous d'un iOpener ou d'un sèche-cheveux pour chauffer la coque arrière, directement derrière la batterie. La coque arrière doit être assez chaude pour que le toucher soit désagréable.

Chauffer l'iPhone peut enflammer la batterie.

Vous pouvez aussi utiliser du fil dentaire ou une corde de guitare (la corde 0.0009 E d'un set de 12 cordes par exemple) pour séparer la batterie de la coque arrière. Introduisez le fil dentaire ou la corde sous les coins supérieurs de la batterie, réunissez les deux bouts, enroulez-les dans une pièce de vêtement pliée et tirez des deux côtés.
