Auto mode not running when needed
The coffee is not being brewed at the time needed
Clock is Not Set
Set the clock to the current time, to have the auto mode turn on at programmed time. Turn the Function knob to Clock, hold down the hour or minute button until the clock starts flashing. Press either the hour or the minute button until the correct time is reached. To set the clock turn the Function knob to any other setting.
Auto On Time is Not Set
Set the Auto On Time to the desired time you want the coffee to be brewed. Turn the Function knob to PROG, then hold down the hour or minute button until the clock starts flashing. Press either the hour or the minute button until the desired time is reached. Turn the Function knob to Auto On, and press the On/Off button until the light turns blue.
Coffee Grounds in Coffee
When brewing a brand new cup of coffee and coffee grounds make it from the filter to your cup
Missing Filter
Check the top compartment of the coffee maker and make sure that the there is a filter in the coffee filter basket and that the coffee grounds are in the filter.
Damaged Filter
Pull the filter out of the coffee maker and check the screen to see if it has any damage that may allow coffee grounds to slip through it.
Filter not placed correctly
Make sure the coffee filter is positioned the coffee filter basket correctly. When placed correctly it should fall into several slots and lock into place.
There is to much coffee in filter
Check the amount of coffee grounds in the filter. If there too much it can cause the coffee, when mixing with water, to rise up and fall over the sided of the filter. To fix this just create brews with less amount of coffee grounds.
Coffee tastes like plastic
When the coffee starts to brew, a scent and taste of burnt plastic is noticeable
Left over residue
First, separate every interchangeable part that can be separated easily without the use of tools. Next, wipe the inside and outside of each part with a paper towel made wet with isopropyl alcohol. Be sure to wipe each corner of every collected part. After that, leave each part to dry for 3-10 minutes upon a dry towel. After the parts are finished drying, re-attach the parts of your Cuisinart. Before you enjoy your first new cup of coffee or hot water, be sure you flush out both systems with water.
Coffee will not dispense
Coffee starts brewing but liquid will not come out
Coffee grounds stuck in reservoir
Rinse the reservoir with water by adding a small amount of water and swishing it around. Then turn the whole coffee maker upside-down to dump out the water and coffee grounds lodged in the hose. If coffee still will not dispense, then the hose will need to be replaced.
No coffee or water
Make sure that there is coffee grounds in the basket and that there is water in the reservoir.

POWER ISSUES - I am having an issue where the LED light will barely be on, it will brew coffee and then immediately turn off.

My filter area is filling up with water and it’s not dispensing. Just bought coffee pot 2 days ago!
It beeps as if it’s done brewing but it won’t brew through. When I lift up filter then all of the water comes through. Help!

Same problem here. It seems there is an intermittent “open circuit” on the main power cord coming into the circuit board. at one point I measured 10v AC on the circuit board. I took it all apart, re-soldered the connections, and tested on/off several times while wiggling the power cord connections. Problem Solved…Untril the next morning when I tried brew coffee. It came on for awhile then quit (blue light goes off). turned on, and blue light is on very dim, and went out. Next up: ohming out the entire cord for opens, probably where they tied it in a tight knot inside for strain relief.

the low water sensor for the water heater flashes even though the water container is full. the filter is not clogged. it will start heating the water but after a few minutes the amber water level light and blue heating lights alternate flashing.

Heating water…set lever to lock , push on/off button, the add water button blinks… add the water. Nothing happens. After about 10 minutes the blinking light goes out. The ready light never lights…blah blah blah. This is our second CHW-12. The 1st didn’t work either, however the coffee maker side lasted 10 years. Yes, 10 years we kept it cleaned with vinegar, changed its filter when it indicated a cleaning needed performed. I just got this out of the box last week. I’m disappointed.

Coffee maker quits working for a week or so. Then it works once or twice and quits again(no blue light). everything else works fine.

Clean light goes on when your first pot of coffee starts. Will not shut off till I turn it off and on again.

Hot water will not dispense. I just cleaned following manual putting 32 ounces of vinegar and dispensed not 16 ounces but only cup and a half and now red light is on to add water?? I’m not finished cleaning yet but why is this happening??

chw-12, power no brew
made coffee the other day, after a couple cups of coffee, I thought i smelled faint odor of burnt Electrical or toasted electrical (ive encountered it at various intensities(?) . i checked dishwasher, (thought plastic had falen victim to the heating coil element for drying the dishes.) odor wasnt prominent enough to pin point where it had eminated from. while in kitchen, finding no immedisate cause or danger i gave up
i did notice the chw12 had turned off (lcd was off - like it would be if it was unplugged,yet it was plugged in.) so later on
i unplugged it and plugged it back in, to try to cycle it, and the clock lit up like normal. it seemed a fluke, i figured
so i set it up to brew another pot added water, and coffee and pressed the round button it lit up
yet no coffee ever brewed, no water got pulled from tank. it just sat there.. would this be control board, ? or if not what might it be
