The Device Is Not Powering On
The Cuisinart DCC-3200 isn’t powering on. No light or sound which indicate the device is turning on.
Outlet Not Working
One of the reasons why the coffeemaker may not power on is because it' isn’t plug correctly into the outlet, or more often, the outlet is no longer working. You can test this by plugging other appliances to the same outlet. Another option is plugging the coffeemaker to a different outlet could help you figure out if the problem is from the outlet or not.
Power Cord Disconnected Internally
When your Cuisinart DCC-3200 isn’t powering on even though it’s plugged in correctly, there’s a chance the power cord may have been disconnected internally. Therefore, you have to replace with a new power cord. Here’s a guide for how to replace a faulty power cord.
Coffee Not Hot Enough
Coffee is not heating to hot enough temperature to your liking.
Not Choosing The Correct Setting
Not choosing the correct setting could make the coffee not hot enough to your liking. To make sure you’re choosing the correct setting, look for the button below the clock for carafe temperature. There should be 3 options: high, medium, and low that can adjust the warming plate temperature.
Hot Plate Is Cracked
When the coffee is not heating to hot enough temperature, the hot plate may be cracked. Here’s how you can fix the hot plate for your coffee machine.
Leaking Water Reservoir
The Cuisinart DCC-3200 Coffeemaker leaks water out on the counter top overnight and the pot would come 2-3 cups short.
Loose or Damaged Water Hose
In many cases, the water hose at the bottom of the Cuisinart DCC-3200 is damaged or worn out after a year or two. It happens due to overheating or excessive heating of the hoses. If you find the water hose clamp loose, then just tighten it. Then, the problem is solved.
If the hose is broken or damaged, you have to replace it with a new one. This is how you can learn how to replace a water hose.
Coffee Has a Metallic Taste
Coffee brews normally, but has a metallic taste.
Filter Basket Needs Cleaning
If not cleaned regularly, the filter basket in the device may cause a metallic taste in the coffee. To clean the filter basket, run a mixture of 1/3 cup of white vinegar and 2/3 cup of water through the device. Then, run several cycles of only water through the device to ensure the removal of any vinegar residue.
Carafe Needs Cleaning
If the carafe is not cleaned regularly, this may result in metallic tasting coffee. Wash the carafe with dish soap thoroughly after every use to ensure that the carafe is clean.
Device Is Not Brewing
The device does not begin the brewing process, either by manual user input, or through the automated process.
Calcium/Mineral Buildup
If there is calcium or mineral deposit in the device, the CLEAN LED indicator will light up. If this LED indicator is illuminated, open the top lid of the device and run vinegar through the water reservoir. This should help remove the calcium/mineral buildup from the device.
Misaligned Carafe
When the carafe is misaligned, the device will not brew coffee. This happens to prevent the spilling of liquid. A simple examination to see how the carafe sits in the device by the user will determine if the carafe is properly aligned.
Not Enough Water in Water Reservoir
The device may not begin the brewing process if there is insufficient water in the water reservoir. To solve this, fill the water level to the required amount that shows in the water reservoir window.
Damaged Wiring
To determine if the device is having faulty wiring issues, unplug the device, and then re-plug in the device. If the “On/Off” LED indicator does not illuminate itself, faulty wiring may be the case. In the event of this, call a professional to repair the device.
Coffee Is Overflowing
The Cuisinart DCC-3200 may overflow during the brewing process, creating a mess of water and partially brewed coffee grounds around the area of the coffeemaker.
Too Many Coffee Grounds
The most likely cause of the coffee overflowing is the basket is overfilled with coffee grounds. To avoid overflow, do not exceed 15 tablespoons of coffee grounds.
Improperly Secured Carafe Lid
The overflow and spilling may be the result of an improperly secured carafe lid. To solve this, simply reset the carafe and ensure the lid is in the correct position.
Additional Paper Filter Placed in Basket or No Paper Filter Used
The overflow of coffee may be caused by either an additional paper filter being used, or no paper filter being used at all. Both of these will cause improper dispensing rate from the device. To ensure only a single paper filter is in use, open the lid of the device and check the basket for the paper filter.
Possible Manufacturing Defect
Make sure that the drip valve on the bottom of the cone is clean. Make sure that the filter basket is properly seated and the carafe is properly placed. If you pour water into the cone, it should drip through; if it does not, the coffee maker is probably improperly assembled. Specifically, the warming plate is not properly seated, such that the distance from the plate to the filter cone is too large.

The water pools in my filter and won’t drain into the carafe. There is no indication how to fix this. I imagine it’s the grind of the coffee? However, I don’t want to invest in a new grinder; my old one worked fine with the older Cuisinart model which I had for years. Evidently these Chinese-made brewers are inferior in quality.

If you've properly positioned the carafe, you're likely dealing with a manufacturing defect. I had the same problem with a brand new DC-3200; trying to brew coffee put grounds into the carafe and the water reservoir, with the filter basket still full of liquid. I requested a warranty replacement.
When inspecting the disabled (original) unit, I removed the bottom cover. I could see that the retaining ring that holds the warming plate in place was not properly seated and that one of the screws holding it was askew. I removed that screw, properly seated the ring in its retaining clips, and properly tightened the screw. It now drains perfectly. Repair completed in less time than I spent on the phone requesting a replacement. (So now I have a coffee maker without a cord...)

My coffee maker will not allow me to press the Clean button on. It usually goes on when it needs cleaning. However it hasn’t been cleaned forever and I know it is time. But the Clean button will not come on by my pressing it. What is the problem?

Why can’t I find a 14 cup filter for my 14 cup cuisinart coffee pot. The 12 cup filters overflow . Why make a 14 cup coffee pot without 14 filters?
Sue Gerberding - Réponse
I bought a 14 cup Cuisinart coffee maker but cannot find 14 cup coffee filters anywhere. I press the black plastic filter into the coffee maker so that it clicks, but the 12 cup Melitta filters do not keep the grounds from overflowing.
Have you made 14 cup filters, where can I purchase them, and if not; Why did you make a 14 cup coffee maker and not 14 cup filters?
I have also adjusted the grind on my coffee beans from medium high grind to coarse.

My coffee pot has been working great. But last night a storm came through.
1. It had made the coffee when we got up
2. All of a sudden it turned off and it will not come back on.
3. I tried different outlets and it still did not work
4. I checked the breaker box and noting was “thrown”
Any suggestions?

The "x" in the lower right turns on and off when you press the Tone button. When the "x" is on, the coffee maker won't chime at the end of the cycle.

My new unit only fills to 12 1/2 cups of water before excess flows out the overflow port in the back of the unit, all over the counter and soaking the base of the unit. So it won’t fill to the 14 cup max level. This is a manufacturing defect and I will be returning the unit. But if I get another one will I see the same defect?

Cuisinart DC 3200 coffee make. The non-drip function if not working. The drip occurs when pouring during coffee making and after coffee is made. This ruins the hot plate. I have replaced the coffee maker through Cuisinart already and they sent another that dripped worse. We'll see if this 3rd one won't drip. Love the coffee maker though.

The top of the unit (that opens and closes to add coffee and water) just started hanging up on something so I can't open it normally. I forced it a little and it got past the first obstacle and then there were two more hitches before it opened completely. I cannot see what is causing the problem. It's as if something got off the track in there, but it's a closed system. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Our coffee maker is working fine but whenever I lift the top lid of the maker to access the filter/reservoir, water (condensation from when the maker was running) drips all down the lid down the back of the maker onto the counter. This happens every day even when i open it 8 hours after the coffee brewed. Is this normal? I have to move the maker and wipe the counter down every time.

The far right indicator light (1 - 4) cups is the only indication the Cusinart DCC-3200 indicates it is getting power.
I had rinsed the coffee maker using boiling water. Now the unit will not operate.
Would I have burned-out the two internal (connected in serious) thermo-resistors ?
Those are the resisters which prevent protect the brewing coffee water from ever over heating. I did not have the electrical cord plugged-in when the boiling water was being poured into the water holding section.
After that procedure, I was convinced the unit had become totally clean. I then proceeded the proper steps to make coffee. With cold water now in the tank, I plugged-in the 120volt power cord. Except for the 1-4 cups light coming on, our DCC-3200 has not functioned.
I’ve either over rated the two thermo resisters; thermal protectors. Or the processor circuit board.
Would you please price me the Circuit Board including the two Thermal protection Resistor or where to purchase, if not through you.
Thanx
Vince

Brand new out of the box twice. Once from Amazon and second unit direct from Cuisinart. Instructions followed to the letter for the test run with water only. Reservoir filled for 12 cups. No filter in the filter basket which was properly seated. No coffee, just water as per the instructions. Only 8 cups drained into the carafe and four cups water remained in the filter basket. Both units seem defective to me. It seems like the valve from the basket to the carafe closes too early.
Fred V - Réponse
This sounds like the manufacturing defect described above and in my Feb 10 reply to the Sep 29, 2018 message from pjc2005. The difference in height of the heating plate when I fixed my defective unit was visually imperceptible, but I could feel the movement when I seated it correctly.
There is no mechanism to open or close the drip-stop valve in the basket during the brewing cycle: it is open whenever a carafe is in position, closing when the carafe is removed. The water getting into the carafe is probably getting there via the overflow path: when the basket overflows, the liquid flows down outside the removable basket, emptying through the hole in the bottom of the cone where the basket's valve sticks out. That path dumps it into the top of the carafe lid, and it flows into the carafe.
Unfortunately, Cuisinart will not learn from these defective units because they never see them when replaced.
