Un appareil avec le meilleur score coûtera relativement peu à la réparation puisqu'il est facile à démonter et qu'un manuel de réparation est disponible. Les points sont attribués selon la difficulté à ouvrir l'appareil, le type de fixations et la difficulté à remplacer les composants majeurs.
