Background and Identification
The Town and Country is a minivan sold by Chrysler beginning in 1990. It has received updates over the years, culminating in the fifth-generation design introduced in August 2007 as a 2008 model. Chrysler sold this generation of the Town and Country until the 2016 model year when the name was discontinued in favor of Chrysler’s Pacifica line.
Aside from a redesigned body based on the Chrysler RT platform, the fifth-generation Town and Country features three rows of seats, two hinged front doors, and two sliding passenger doors. The second row of seats can swivel 180 degrees to face back towards the third row, and you can optionally mount a small table between the two rows. If you have kids in the back, you can entertain them with an optional DVD player system.
You can identify this minivan by looking for the winged Chrysler logo and the words “Town & Country” on the back door. You can find the model year of the car by looking at the front cover of the user’s manual. Alternatively, you can find the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the car’s registration or written on the driver’s side door jam or on the dashboard beneath the edge of the windshield. Use this VIN decoder or use this table on Wikipedia to decode the 10th digit of the VIN which always points to the model year of the car.
