Background and Identification
A gel imaging system (also known as gel documentation system or gel doc) is a laboratory device used to record proteins, nucleic acid, and antibodies contained in polyacrylamide or agarose gels. Most gel imaging systems are equipped with an ultraviolet light transilluminator, a hood to protect the user from ultraviolet light, and a CMOS camera.
