Background
The HP EliteBook x360 1020 G2 is a 2-in-1 Notebook PC. The HP EliteBook x360 1020 G2 is a single model that has up to nine different configurations, ranging from Entry-level to Premium specifications, released in September 2017. The laptop was released as a light convertible device to be used anywhere, from the office, aboard a flight, or even at home, while providing high-performance and industry-approved security. This device is paired with SureView technology, which was introduced in 2016 to provide a privacy filter to the display with a click of a button. This privacy filter makes the viewing angle white, making it more difficult to view the information from the side due to a light-controlled film in the display.
The laptop's weight ranges from 2.5 pounds, depending on the model's component configuration. This can be verified through HP Support using the device's serial number. The laptop is made of light gray machined CNC aluminum, about 0.55 inches thick, with a black backlit keyboard. The laptop's display is 12.5 inches diagonally, utilizing an IPS UWVA, an FHD Touch screen, or a UHD Touch screen with a built-in 720p HD webcam, with dual array microphones, and integrated stereo speakers. This laptop has the capability of utilizing an IR camera for face recognition and a touch fingerprint sensor for authentication methods.
Back in the late 2010s, this was designed with privacy in mind due to the built-in privacy filter and camera cover while handling most business computing tasks. There were no failures or manufacturer recalls associated with this device. The most well-known issue was the built-in privacy filter, which caused faster battery depletion. This could result in faster degradation of the battery by those who keep their laptops plugged in at all times. This model from Hewlett-Packard was highly regarded by office workers and executives for not only its light-weight 2-in-1 design, but also due to its online and offline security.
There was a version released to be the older brother of this model, the HP EliteBook x360 1030 G2. This version had the latest input/output compatibility while maintaining the 2-in-1 convertible design. The 1030 had approximately 14 hours of battery life, which is 6 hours more than the 1020 version. The 1030 version also had a larger screen size of 13.3 inches with the same Sure View filter and Active Pen compatibility.

Identification
The HP EliteBook x360 1020 G2 is a smaller-sized device, with a light gray chassis, and a thinner gap between the end of the laptop and the keyboard. Along the left side is an audio combo jack, a security lock slot, and the power button. Along the right side is the HDMI port, two USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolts, and the volume up and down buttons. The model number and serial number are located on the bottom panel of the device on a black HP sticker, beside a blue-holographic Windows sticker. The device is very similar to the HP EliteBook x360 1030 G2 in design, and the difference is subtle.
