While the performance and battery life of the smaller model were diminished relative to the 13 inch version, the laptop exceeded the performance of other netbooks at the time. The 11 inch model included just an input/output headphone jack, a MagSafe charging port, and two USB 2.0 ports.

	In 2012, the Airs were upgraded to include i5 and i7 Intel processors, USB 3.0, faster memory and flash storage speeds, and the newer MagSafe 2 charging port. For the next five years, the form of the MacBook Air 11” remained relatively unchanged (with the exception of a Thunderbolt 2 port in 2015) until it was discontinued in 2017.

Apple introduced the 11" MacBook Air on October 20, 2010, as a lighter, handier version of their super-thin 13" Air. While the performance and battery life of the smaller model were diminished relative to the 13 inch version, the laptop exceeded the performance of other netbooks at the time. The 11 inch model included just an input/output headphone jack, a MagSafe charging port, and two USB 2.0 ports.

The 11 inch variation of the MacBook Air wasn’t included until the second generation of the line, which coincided with the MacBook Air’s transition to Apple’s entry level offering. In 2011, the 11 and 13 inch Air models were updated and the plastic white MacBook discontinued. Being offered at a lower cost than the Pro models, the 11 inch MacBook Air became the cheapest way to enter the Apple ecosystem at the time.

In 2012, the Airs were upgraded to include i5 and i7 Intel processors, USB 3.0, faster memory and flash storage speeds, and the newer MagSafe 2 charging port. == Contexte et identification ==

Apple lance le MacBook Air 11" le 20 octobre 2010. Il s'agit d'une version plus légère et plus maniable que le super fin Air 13". Bien que les performances et l'autonomie de la batterie aient été réduites par rapport à la version 13 pouces, l'ordinateur dépasse la performance des autres ordinateurs de l'époque. Le modèle 11 pouces comprend seulement une prise jack entrée/sortie, un port de charge MagSafe et deux ports USB 2.0.

La version 11 pouces du MacBook Air n'apparaît qu'avec la deuxième génération de la gamme, ce qui coïncide avec la transition du MacBook Air dans l'offre entrée de gamme d'Apple. En 2011, les Air 11 et 13 pouces sont mis à jour et la production du MacBook en plastique blanc est arrêtée. Vendu à moindre prix que les modèles Pro, le MacBook Air 11" devient alors la porte d'entrée la moins chère dans l'écosystème Apple.

En 2012, les Air sont mis à niveau avec des processeurs i5 et i7,  USB 3.0, une mémoire et un stockage flash plus rapides ainsi que le tout nouveau port de charge MagSafe 2. Au cours des cinq années suivantes, la forme du MacBook Air 11" ne change plus beaucoup (à l'exception du port Thunderbolt 2 en 2015) jusqu'à l'arrêt de la production en 2017.
