Le Magic Trackpad d’Apple combine les meilleurs éléments du trackpad traditionnel et du contrôle par écran tactile. Le Magic Trackpad s’apparie aux ordinateurs Apple par Bluetooth et a une portée de 10 m (pour le cas où vous voudriez pouvoir contrôler votre ordinateur depuis le jardin des voisins par exemple…).

Le Magic Trackpad permet à ses utilisateurs de cliquer en appuyant directement sur la surface de l’appareil. L’utilisateur peut dérouler, glisser, zoomer, faire pivoter, etc. en utilisant le trackpad comme un écran tactile. Le Magic Trackpad est d’abord sorti en 2010 en reprenant le design de la Magic Mouse. Une autre version, le Magic Trackpad 2, est sortie en 2015, annonçant l’arrêt de commercialisation du Magic Trackpad la même année. À l’été 2020, le prix du Magic Trackpad 2 était de 129 $ aux États-Unis, soit près du double du prix originel de 69 $ en 2010.
