== Contexte et identification ==

Sept mois après le lancement de l'iPhone 4, Apple annonce la version CDMA, le premier appareil Apple compatible avec le réseau Verizon.

Mises à part les différences liées à la technologie sans fil, la version Verizon de l'iPhone 4 est presque identique à l'iPhone 4 existant (GSM), la quatrième génération de smartphone d'Apple. Ils se distinguent des versions précédentes par leur aspect carré, leurs vitres avant et arrière, ainsi que leur châssis en acier qui sert également d'antenne-récepteur.

Le degré de difficulté d'une réparation d'iPhone 4 dépend de la pièce tombée en panne. La vitre du panneau frontal est fusionnée à l'écran LCD et la vitre tactile, ce qui signifie que la vitre ne peut être  ni réparée ni remplacée individuellement. Les utilisateurs qui ont le malheur de briser le panneau frontal de l'iPhone 4 devront remplacer les 3 pièces (d'un bloc) pour réparer leur iPhone 4 avec succès. Quant à la coque arrière, elle se remplace facilement : on dévisse deux vis puis fait glisser le panneau.

D'autre part, il est également facile de remplacer la batterie, même si Apple affirme qu'aucune des pièces de l'iPhone 4 n'est remplaçable par l'utilisateur.
