Background
The Suzuki DR650 SE began production in the 90's and is still being produced today. The bike features a 644cc air/oil cooled engine producing 46 hp and weighs around 325 lbs (dry weight).
The DR650 has a long-lasting, very durable engine that usually provides for a long, trouble-free life. That is, of course, if the engine is properly taken care of. A couple of issues that can pop up on this motorcycle include: counter-shaft sprocket seal popping out, and the neutral sending unit stops working. The neutral sending unit is held in place by two screws, and there have been instances when these screws get loose and fall into the engine.
Identification
You can identify your dual-sport motorcycle by the Suzuki logo printed in white along the side of the seat or saddle of the bike. The number 650 is printed on the top of the side panel in silver. DR is printed in gray and Dual Sport is printed in yellow, along the side of the fuel tank.
