Background
The Texas Instruments TI-83 is a graphing calculator released in 1996 as an update to the TI-82. It is an extremely popular graphing calculator amongst students and is allowed in the College Board standardized tests. The TI-83 features function graphing, polar/parametric/sequence graphing modes, trigonometric and algebraic functions, to name a few. The TI-83 has been re-designed in 1999 and in 2001. It is discontinued in 2004, succeeded by the TI-83 plus series.
