Enable Trim - Mid-2007 iMac

I removed the optical drives inside an Early-2009 iMac and a Mid-2007 iMac, replacing each with a Samsung EVO SSD.

The 2009 iMac SSD (and the previous optical drive) connects through SATA; the 2007 iMac through ATA.

Using Trim Enabler I can enable trim on the 2009 iMac but not the 2007 iMac.

Why?

How do I enable trim on the 2007 iMac?

To start with I would make sure the firmware was the latest (I would check both systems and compare them). Review this Apple TN: EFI & SMC firmware updates for Intel-based Macs.

What OS are you using on each system? Are they both Lion or newer.

Lastly, what is the boot drive volume setup with? GUID & Mac OS Extended (Journaled) correct.

Thank-you for replying!

The latest firmware is installed on each. Each has OS X 10.9.2 Mavericks. Each hard drive is set up using GUID and Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

Can you give us the last three digits of both systems serial numbers so we can identify the exact models you have here and can review the spec sheets to see whats different.

I'm very late in replying... that's what shift work will do to you.

I no longer have the 2009 iMac; the last three digits of the 2007 iMac are X8A.

What is the OS-X version and what is the configuration of the drive - GUID & Mac OS Extended (Journaled)?
