My airport became erratic, then stopped working, is it maybe the card?

My airport has always functioned well, but recently it became erratic, then today stopped completely.

Any ideas? Is it probably the Airport Extreme card?

How is the card accessed and changed?

No, no bumps, water or other damage. Other people at the same location reported no problems with the WiFi. I thought it was almost certainly the Airport card, but decided to send out the query in case there was some software glitch, connector problem, or anything similar I was not aware of before going to the expense and effort of replacing the card- which I will do now.

Options

Can other computers connect using the same wireless network that you use? If so, it's probably your card.

What does the Network panel of System Preferences look like?

And finally, has this computer been dropped or does it have water / liquid damage?
