Constant Issues With Screen Integrity After Screen Replacements

Hi. I've been having some issues with screen replacements on the Z3. When I fit the new screen it never truly sits properly. I've been using the pre cut adhesive strips but these don't seem to be adhering the screen sufficiently, especially around the sides meaning that the screen is becoming weaker due to it not sitting flush.

I'm wondering what adhesive you guys use? I've resorted to buying the full screen/frame assembly but would like to avoid the extra cost if possible.

Cheers in advance.

Did you make sure to completely remove adhesive around the perimeter of the phone body?

Yes. It's been fully removed.

I've just replaced three Xperia Z3 LCDs and am having the same problem. I think that part of the problem is that on this phone the screen holds the spring loaded ear speaker down, so the speaker is always pushing against it. I've tried several different tape/glue combinations and none have been as good as I'd like them to be. If anyone has a good source for precut Xperia adhesive I'd like to know to!

Some pre cut adhesive is poorly made.

Try find a good supplier for it, I've used replacebase for pre cut adhesive before on the Xperia Z series, and always got a flush fit, make sure you completely clear the old adhesive, using 99.9% isopropyl alcohol to clean the frame of any excess adhesive, dirt and grease.

After that, make sure you line up the adhesive correctly, once you put the screen in, heat it up around the sides, and use clamps to secure it, this will give you a very strong adhesion and flush fit. :-)

Beware that both the LCD and the Back Glass need to be seated well.

When either one is seated badly, with poor adhesive as Ged mentioned, the whole frame isnt stable enough.

So far all Z series have that problem.

My Z3 has a broken back glass, now that the frame is becoming wobbly the lcd/touchscreen is becoming a little bit unstable too.

My Z1 broke down from a bad/broken frame (not the backglass' doing this time tho)
