Try another SIM see if it's a problem with SIM or phone itself.
Going down the path of fixing the phone itself can be costly and tedious.

Yes I would recommend doing this first.
The sim card is working in another phone. I can also see the imei number but it says 'No sim detected'
Also tried different sim card. Same result.
What could be the problem?
What do i do next?
Any way for solving this problem?

Check if you still have an imei number in the settings (don't post your imei number here).
If you do then most likely the sim card reader pins are damaged. These aren't easy to repair as the sim card slot is soldered to the board. You should take it to a mobile phone repair shop to fix it for you.
