WIll not boot, many, many errors

Hi. For a few days my one-year-old iPad Air has been acting up. Some apps will take a while to load and once they do, it goes to the home screen. Last night, it was doing that for most of my apps, so I tried powering it off. I held the power button for a full minute, and all it did was turn off into standby. There was a new update that had been there for 2 weeks and I tried updating it. It wouldn't let me. Finally, when nothing was working I did a settings reset. It has been about 12 hours since I did that and the bar under that Apple logo has not moved a millimeter. I tried connecting it to Apple Diagnostics, but it wouldn't work. WHat could be wrong with my iPad?

Also, I held the home and power buttons and now I can charge it. I do not know what will happen after it is charged. Thanks!

Options

Did you try an over the air update? If this caused it to get stuck at the apple logo with the bar at the bottom. Then you can try connecting the iPad to iTunes via booting the iPad into recovery mode or DFU mode. You can do this by having the iPad plugged via USB cable to the computer.

Steps:

  1. Plug iPad Air with lightning connector to the computer.
  2. Turn off iPad, once you have got it turned off, immediately keep holding or start holding the home button until you get an iTunes symbol. Make sure you keep holding when you do get the apple logo.
  3. Open up iTunes if you haven't already and try updating the iPad when prompted.
