iPad opening apps by itself - Even after digitizer replacement?

Hi everyone

At a complete loss with this one! ...

Bought a cheap iPad 2 with the intention of fixing it up that was opening apps by itself .

From experience I suspected a faulty digitizer, so I cracked it open and replaced the digitizer with a new one , being careful not to bend or tear any cables (I'm a repairs business and have fixed many iPads)

Now either I've just gone and got a dud part ... or something else is amiss.

I'm the first person to open this ipad , it has had no previous repair history.

Any ideas!? Try another digitizer possibly?

any sign of liquid damage ?

Did you test the digitizer before closing the digitizer glass front panel completely?

Always better to try another digitizer, I've went through faulty new digitizers before.

It is possible to get low quality digitizer ribbon cables (it varies basically from supplier to supplier).

Thanks for the comments so far

No sign of liquid damage at all

Will try another digitizer!

and yep digitizer was working ok before I sealed the ipad shut!

If the digitizer was working perfectly before sealing the unit back up, I would check the ribbon cable connecting to the logic board. The slightest fold in the wrong location will cause what's is called ghosting
