I just clicked that I have the same problem with the same phone. Did you resolve your problem?

I just watched a video on Youtube, where the guy drenched the phone in water and submerged it and the phone was working perfectly. I drop my phone in the toilet too and it won't turn on! I now have it in rice and will see if it turns on tonight. After that, then I will try dissembling the phone and see if i need to dry it off.

@zoeylynn skip the rice. It does not do anything other than waste valuable time.

I suggest you treat it just like any other water damaged phone. The very first thing you want to do is to not try to restart, sync or otherwise try to use the phone. This may further damage your phone. Remove the battery The next thing to do is to clean it. Disassemble your phone using this video as a guide Then clean it with +90% isopropyl alcohol. Follow this guide , and even so it was written for an Apple iPhone 3G, all the points are still pertinent to your phone. You will have to remove all the EMI shields of your board to properly clean it. While you clean your board, check for any obvious damage, like burned or missing components etc. When it is properly cleaned, replace the battery. All these steps are to avoid delayed failure caused by corrosion. Once all this is done, reassemble your phone and reevaluate.

I would suggest that before you try any of this, you let your mom know what happened. I am sure she'll be upset but ultimately I think you will need her help for this as well. If you have trouble doing any of this, then consider contacting people that specialize in water damage like @refectio this user and see if he can help you further.

@oldturkey03 knows what he's talking about better than I do. Listen to him. Especially the mom part.

The moto z does not open so you cannot remove the battery.

Follow this guide: Electronics Water Damage

Do it ASAP. The sooner the better. There currently is no guides for your phone though, so you can take some pictures and we'll try and help you out. Try a suction cup on the back, and apply heat with a hair dryer to release the adhesive, if necessary.
