What happens when you connect and switch on the charger only? Do you get any indications on the laptop at all?
How old is this computer? Have you checked to see if it is in warranty? You might check on getting the extended warranty if it is not too late. Dell tech support is very good if the computer is in warranty, but out of warranty can be expensive to repair.
