The microphone does not work. When I speak only only static is heard

I have a QuietComfort® 25 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones

The microphone does not work. When I speak or write a message, only static is heard.

I tried on a MacBook, ipad, iphone and Motorola (Android) by skype, by phone, voice msn, voice whatspp and in all cases static.

Then place the QC Airplane Adapter and work!

Can you tell me how to solve the problem in order to use the microphone normally?

Options

Try replacing the 3.5mm stereo audio lead. Sounds like its a connector problem
