Need to replace broken screen, how good are the replacements?

Broke my screen a few weeks ago with a half a meter drop on a carpet *sigh*.

The glass is not even shattered, however the screen flicks and shows huge horizontal and vertical bars with multiple colors.

I was looking into buying a replacement screen. As I am from Europe, I checked some deals on Ebay UK and Amazon UK, the price seems much more acceptable then the 850€ apple asks, although I am still skeptical on how good these replacements are as I can't find reviews on any of them.

Could someone point me to a good one? Or are these terrible compared to the Genuine Apple Screens?

Thank you!

Before replacement, i suggest opening your macbook up, unplugging and plugging back in the display cable. If it still has the issue, you need to get a new screen

MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Early 2013 Display Assembly Replacement

There is the guide to replace the screen. To check the cable, do up to step 4 and then skip down to step 11 to remove the cable. Dont remove anything else but the battery cable and this cable.

That is the part. Ifixit doesn't have new ones but grade A is basically like new. If you dont care about a few minor scratches on the metal lid, the grade B is 50 dollars cheaper and still a good buy.

Another option is to get one of these macbooks used on ebay with a good screen for less that the money is to buy the screen. That way you get the screen and some other parts that you can sell and make some money in the process.

I now go with the iFixit parts because I know they will work, I only have to top the repair once and the parts carry a lifetime warranty against defects (you can't get that anyplace else!)

The replacement part seems to be out of stock, and I am guessing these come from the US?

Should I wait? Or are there good replacements on other stores?

It does seem to be out of stock. It seems like either you must wait or maybe my ebay option might be a good idea. I checked another good site and it's out of stock too. Your best bet is to buy one off ebay with other issues and transplant the screens.

@cam2363 There are multiple replacement screens on ebay.co.uk like these:

Are these as good as the original?

So I looked up my serial number and the Apple Order no. is ME665LL/A.

I ordered in a display from these folks on eBay last week because iFixit was out of stock. To my great surprise it was an actual original replacement Retina Display part from Apple.
