Just cleaned my ps4 this week for the first time it was not overheating but just wanted to clean it and change out thermal paste(didnt put too much or too little) . Now that i put it together and turned it on while i am playing games fan is very loud, louder than before cleaning yet my ps4 is warm but not hot.

My guess is not enough thermal paste between APU and heatsink. You should put a generous amount always.

Hi. I did the same thing, cleaned up all PS4 and putted a generous amount of thermal paste and yet it has the same problem. The fan goes like crazy loud when playing games.

Are you sure you plugged everything back in? You may want to buy a replacement playstation fan.

Mine is actually a PS4 Pro, which was running hot (judging by the color-change stands I used to raise it up a bit). I opened it, cleaned the fan, replaced the thermal paste, and dusted everything. Now it doesn’t heat up, but bright scenes send the fan spinning up like a turbojet! It goes down in volume only during loading screens (black, in Skyrim). Some suggestions towards figuring out how to cool it QUIETLY would be helpful.

got solution mate ? same problem too! and i did the same what u have done , i hvae ps4 pro too.
