Why is my screen black but the tab is still vibrating?

The temperatures where at about 37°C and we were in the car. When I tried switching on my tab; it just had a black screen. It has been refusing to switch on at all but you can feel the tab vibrate when you press the volume buttons. Is the any way to fix this and is it possible to replace the lcd using one from a tab S2 as I have failed to find the proper lcd replacement for the Tab S3?

The issue you are having seems to be a bad lcd. Im guessing the cold may have had something to do with it or the change in temperature when turning on the device caused a tiny bit of moisture to short something. This is why it's best to keep electronics inside during cold and hot days because they can either short or overheat. I don't know off the top of my head what the s2 and s3 lcd connectors look like. I'd assume they are different, so I wouldn't trust it unless you are confident the connector is the same.

First up the Galaxy Tab S3 9.7 aka SM-T820 does not have an "lcd" display. It has a super AMOLED display. Huge technical difference between twisting liquid crystals vs light emitting diodes which are not temperature sensitive like lcd's are.

The term LCD is used loosely by me and a lot of people on the forum to describe the display. The temperature issue I alluded to was due to moisture causing a short or heat causing board damage, not that the temperature directly affected just the screen, but a sub component that controls the screen somehow.
