Anti-Reflective coating damaged - Screen Replacement?

Ok, I've got the MacBook Pro 2016 15" model with touch bar. I believe it has a damaged LCD.

I've heard that this device is eligible for a screen replacement free of charge due to the anti-reflective coating, is this true?

I've noticed that it is quite hard to clear the laptop and I've noticed issues with smudging. Will apple replace the display free of charge, despite previous damage? Thanks in advance.

Edit: Here are the pictures

I'm not sure if this is due to the broken LCD, but I've had trouble clearing smudges on the display in the past, not sure if it's related.

It looks like someone had shot the screen as you can see all the way though!

So far Apple has not acknowledged any issues with the screens with the newer 2016 & 2017 models.

Depending on the damage, Apple may not replace it under warranty. Did you get AppleCare + service contract? When did you get your system month wise?

I got the system 6 months ago, and I don't have AppleCare+

Sorry John, You do need a new screen assembly ;-{

The LCD glass is cracked so Apple won't take responsibility for the damage that might have been theirs with the coating. If the screen was not damaged then you might have had a chance.

Thanks for your reply, I'll guess I'll just take the £350 hit or however much it costs. Do you think this is a consequence of the LCD glass or rather the anti-reflective coating, I'm really not sure. I've noticed smudges before, but only on coloured on the screen since the LCD cracked. Thanks again!

The fact the cover glass is so badly fractured I couldn't tell you which happened first.

For argument sake lets say the screen coating were damaged alone then I would have gotten it fixed then. Now that the screen is also damaged they can't replace the cover glass as the LDC needs replacing too. You would still have a broken system with just a new cover glass the LCD would still be broken.

The type of cleaner and what you use to wipe the surface has a large bearing on causing damage to the coatings. I use a micro-cloth and eye glass cleaner as it's the safest. Even still, you'll want to wash the micro-cloth often as the grit it picks up can scratch the glass.

The cover glass isn't broke , this the image when's the laptop is on, there is no visible damage, except the smudging which can be seen when the laptop is off
